Chapter 7

Conclusion

The military and neighboring communities can work together to address mutual noise challenges surrounding military installations and ranges. Reducing complaints and concerns from communities without modifying or constraining operations is DoD's ultimate goal. DoD understands that, by their nature, military activities are noisy events. The military strives to lessen effects of noise on communities by educating and conducting outreach with community members, establishing a common understanding of noise, and addressing noise through appropriate planning and response.
